Privacy Policy

Bears Buddy ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Bears Buddy mobile application (the "App") and this website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect as little as possible, and what we do store stays on your device.
1. Information We Collect
Information stored only on your device. The App saves your preferences locally on your device (for example: your favorited players and stats, notification settings, default team, appearance settings, and cached sports data for offline use). This information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.
Information we do not collect. The App does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any government identifiers. We do not sell personal information — we don't have any to sell.
Support email. If you contact us at BearsBuddyDev@gmail.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use them only to respond to you and do not add you to any mailing list.
2. Notifications
If you enable notifications, the App schedules them locally on your device (game-day reminders, final-score alerts, and news updates). Notification scheduling happens entirely on-device; we do not operate a push-notification server and cannot see whether or when you receive them. You can turn notifications off at any time in the App's settings or your device settings.
3. Analytics and Advertising
The App includes an optional, off-by-default-honored "Share anonymous usage analytics" setting. If analytics are enabled in a future version, they will be aggregated and anonymous (feature usage counts — never personal identifiers), and you can opt out at any time in Settings.
The App currently displays no advertising. If advertising is introduced in a future version, non-personalized ads will be the default, personalized ads will require your explicit opt-in consent via the "Personalized ads" setting, and this policy will be updated before any such change takes effect.
4. Third-Party Content and Services
The App displays content retrieved from third parties. When it does, your device connects to their servers directly, and their privacy policies apply to those connections:
- Sports data (schedules, scores, statistics, rosters) is compiled from a combination of publicly available open-source data repositories hosted on GitHub (GitHub Privacy Statement), independent personal research, and our own data collection.
- News videos are Bears-related videos from YouTube. Thumbnails and embedded playback connect to YouTube/Google services (Google Privacy Policy). Videos play in a privacy-enhanced embed where available.
- Social links (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) open the respective service only when you tap them.
We do not share any information with these services beyond the standard network requests your device makes to fetch content.
5. Children's Privacy
Bears Buddy is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because the App collects no personal data, no special parental action is needed. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your preferences and cached data live only on your device, you are in control: use "Clear cached data" in the App's settings to remove cached sports data, or uninstall the App to remove everything. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your request.
7. Security
All network connections the App makes use HTTPS encryption. Locally stored preferences are protected by your device's built-in app sandboxing.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Since we don't collect personal information through the App, these rights primarily apply to support correspondence — email us and we will honor any request to access or delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes (such as introducing analytics or advertising) will also be highlighted in the App's release notes before taking effect.

Bears Buddy is an informational and entertainment app only. It is not a gambling product and does not offer, facilitate, or accept wagers of any kind. Historical betting-market figures (point spreads, totals, and related trends) are shown solely as context about how past games unfolded relative to market expectations.
Nothing in this app is betting advice or a prediction of future outcomes. Past trends do not predict future results. Betting lines shown are historical records from public sources and may differ from the lines any sportsbook actually offered. Bears Buddy and its creators accept no responsibility for any wagering decision or its outcome.
